I have been busy with family things this past week. I have tried and tried to get online, but wasn't able to work on any of my stuff but that's ok! So this morning I got an email from a site that  I had visited awhile back and was interested in what was offered, but with limited funds I was unable to afford the program. If your like me, then the thought of Hosting Your Own Blog can be scary. I am self taught and can honestly tell you that if you have a Facebook Account then you can host your own blog.

Get A Domain Name – When getting a Domain Name you need to choose a name that best describes what you want to blog about or you can use your name if that is how you planning on branding yourself online.

Setup Web Hosting – Setting up Web Hosting is pretty simple, but I do recommend that you keep track of your account login information. Either write it down or print it out, but make sure you don't loose it. You will need this in order to set up your blog.

Install your Blog on your Hosting Account – Here are some videos I made:

Now you should already have purchased your Domain Name and Web Hosting Account and are ready to install your Wordpress Blog on your own hosting account. I am going to show you the easiest way to install your blog and you don't even have to have web design knowledge YOU WILL NEED YOUR HOSTING INFORMATION IN ORDER TO INSTALL YOUR BLOG

Log in to your cpanel. The URL should be something like www.yourdomain.com:2082. You will then be prompted for your username and password. You can find your username and password in the confirmation email that your hosting sent you. I bookmark my site login's that way I can have easy access to them.

Now lets install your Wordpress Blog Using Fantastico

Once you are signed in you will need to scroll down to where you see the Fantastico Icon like the one below and click on it.

Under Blogs you will find Wordpress, click on it.
Then the Wordpress Install Dashboard
will appear like the one below:

Next, Click on New Installation and the
following screen will pop up. I have numbers with
the corresponding numbers below:

1. Install on domain – Select the domain you want to install your blog on.
2. Install in directory – Leave this blank if you wish to use your blog as your main website. If you already have a website and you   are going to use this as the blog then you would want to enter Blog in this space. So your domain would then be YourDomain.com/Blog.
3. Administrator username – This is the username you are going to use to sign in to your blog.
4. Password – This is the password you will use to sign in to your blog.
5. Admin nickname – Use a nickname that you like it will show on your blog when you post to show who wrote it.
6. Admin e-mail – Enter the email address you wish to be contacted through when someone comments or posts or your blog.
7. Site Name – Your URL goes here and what you type here will also appear up on the top left when your blog is accessed.
8. Description – This would be your Slogan (Don't worry if you don't fill it out you can always go in after the install and add it.
9. Click Install WordPress And Your DONE!!
